High energy efficient aerospace bearing systems

Aerospace bearings for aircraft engines and helicopters have to operate under critical operating conditions such as high speeds, high temperatures, high loads and highest requirements on reliability. To cope with these requirements, special aerospace bearing materials, heat treatments as well as designs are required. This presentation provides an overview of aerospace bearing operating conditions and the bearing system solutions provided Schaeffler Aerospace. Furthermore, it is presented how integrated aerospace bearing systems for aircraft engines and helicopters enable significant weight, fuel and emission reductions.
