Content
The rolling bearing is a standardised part comprising several individual parts. The high reliability of such an important machine element can only be communicated by means of detailed basic knowledge, such as the influence of components on each other and on their environment.
This training course addresses the following subjects by means of presentations, tutorials and exercises based on individual and group work:
Learning objectives
- load distribution in rolling bearings
- internal clearance, bearing clearance and operating clearance
- rolling bearing geometry, osculation, contact angle
- Hertzian theory
- basic load ratings and rigidity
- raceway quality (stresses / hardness)
- rating life (definitions / background / types) rolling bearing kinematics, friction and thermal balance
- rolling bearing materials, heat treatment, characteristics, requirements
- tribology; lubricants, types of lubrication, grease operating life, relubrication intervals, contaminants
- Weibull; statistical principles; prediction of rating life
- basic knowledge of mechatronics
- manufacturing processes in rolling bearing production
- surface technology
- materials engineering / heat treatment
