Externally Excited Synchronous Machine
Externally excited synchronous machines (EESM) are free of rare-earth elements and thus minimize cost and supply chain risks with an optimized CO2e footprint. Thanks to flexible excitation, EESM rotors can handle rapid changes in speed and torque, making them suitable for dynamic applications, e. g. in industrial systems or electric vehicles. The Schaeffler EESM portfolio covers a performance range from 15 kW up to 300 kW.
