In der heutigen Zeit sind sehr viele Prozessabläufe oder Herstellungsverfahren automatisiert und digitalisiert. Die Tätigkeiten des Ingenieurs orientieren sich daran, ständig Verbesserungen vorzunehmen und auch neue Technologien zu entwickeln, die beispielsweise die Fertigung effizienter machen. Die Basis des Studiengangs ist das umfassende Grundlagenstudium, das zur optimalen Vermittlung von Allgemeinwissen dient. Anschließend kann sich der Ingenieur in verschiedene Vertiefungsrichtungen spezialisieren, wie zum Beispiel Automation, elektrische Energietechnik, Elektronik, Medizintechnik und Energie- bzw. Umwelttechnik.
The training
As a student at the DHBW Mannheim, you regularly change between theoretical and practical training phases during three years of study.
Your fields of activity after completing the studies
With a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical Engineering , you are able to apply scientific research in applications for current requirements. Your technical expertise includes the principles and methods of automation engineering. In addition, you have a knowledge of business administration and the necessary social competencies and methods expertise acquired through systematic training within the company. Your acquired holistic expertise enables you to solve tasks in all areas of automation. You usually perform these tasks in the areas Development, Project Management, Planning, Manufacturing, Quality and Sales and can be deployed directly in these areas due to the knowledge you gained during the practical integrated degree program.

Studienfach
In den ersten Semestern des Studiums wird Ihnen ein breites, betriebswirtschaftliches Grundwissen vermittelt. Ihre Studienfächer reichen von Marketing über Personalwesen bis hin zu Finanz- und Rechnungswesen. Nachdem Sie sich das Basiswissen angeeignet haben, haben Sie ab dem fünften Semester die Möglichkeit, zwischen verschiedenen Vertiefungsfächern zu wählen. Damit können Sie sich auf einen bestimmten Unternehmensbereich spezialisieren und Ihre Fähigkeiten schon während des Studiums gezielt ausbauen. Um sich für spätere Fach- und Führungsaufgaben in unserem Unternehmen zu qualifizieren, werden Ihre Führungs- und Fremdsprachenkompetenzen frühzeitig trainiert.
The training
As a student at the DHBW Mannheim, you regularly change between theoretical and practical training phases during three years of study. The study program starts at the DHBW Mannheim in October after an introductory course in the company.
Your fields of activity after completing the studies
You are well-qualified in theory and practice after completing your Bachelor of Arts/Industrial Business Management studies. Depending on your major field of study, you will work in departments such as HR, Database Administration, Logistics, Production Planning and Control, Organization and Audits, Controlling, and Sales as a specialist.
