Shifting Transmissions Into Gear (7th LuK Symposium 2002)

With the introduction of Electronic Clutch Management (ECM) as in the Mercedes AClass, the demand for the automation of the gearbox itself soon followed. The LuK ASG is the first Automated Shift Gearbox with electromechanical gear shifting as an add-on design. The system was originally installed in the Opel Corsa Easytronic®, with Opel and Bosch involved in the development.
