Friction Disk Spindle Bearing Failure Analysis

At a Chinese textile manufacturer Oerlikon Barmag texturing machines equipped with INA-brand friction spindles were affected by failures. As part of an in-depth failure analysis German and Chinese Schaeffler experts from different departments worked close together and found out, that the failures had been caused by “white etching cracks” (WEC) and wrong lubrication.
