  • The Schaeffler E-Axle Repair Tool enables safe and contact-free replacement of rotor and stator
  • Save costs and conserve resources through targeted repair instead of complete replacement of electric motors
  • Garages benefit from new business opportunities in the field of e-mobility

Schaeffler Vehicle Lifetime Solutions introduces the E-Axle Repair Tool, a specialized device that makes it possible to repair electric powertrains. The new tool enables precise, non-contact disassembly and reassembly of rotors and stators. Instead of replacing entire motors at high cost, targeted repairs can now be performed – saving resources and supporting a sustainable circular economy. Vehicle owners benefit from a cost-effective alternative to full motor replacement.

“Repair instead of replace: that requires the right specialized tools. As a technology pioneer, we are setting the standards,” says Stephan Niese, Director Global Product Management ePowertrain at Schaeffler Vehicle Lifetime Solutions. “This new tool opens the door to the world of electric motor repair – and to the future of the e-powertrain. We’re making e-mobility more sustainable, economical, and repairable.”

Efficient, safe, and sustainable repair instead of replacement

Thanks to the tool’s high rigidity and mechanical precision, as well as its universal adaptability to various types of electric motors, it can be used flexibly for motor disassembly and reassembly. Its robust construction ensures safe and well-guided disassembly, maintaining the necessary radial clearance even under strong magnetic forces. With pressing forces of up to 10,000 Newton, even tightly bonded seals can be released and new bearings pressed in – without damaging components.

“Precise guidance during rotor removal is essential to prevent contact between components. Any abrasion left inside the motor could lead to damage,” explains Stephan Niese.

The tool also offers ergonomic handling, with unrestricted access from three open working sides.

Ready for garages specializing in e-motor repair

The E-Axle Repair Tool is suitable for all garages focusing on electric motor repair and looking to tap into new business opportunities. It is now available and compatible with all existing Schaeffler repair solutions and axle systems, including the E-Axle RepSystem-G and E-Axle RepSystem-M.
